SYMPTOM Machine boots to Finder OK, but freezes right after an application is launched. It freezes consistently on launching every application. The launch of an application is signified by an expanding rectangle and the display of the Title Bar (replacing the menu bar) with the application’s name centered in the bar. The machine freezes right after this.
ANSWER: I have observed this symptom as being caused by corrupted Norton extensions. You should trash all the Norton extensions and re-install the program from CD. [added jfb 4-5-02]
