On my PowerMac G4 the audio port jack is loose, produces bad sound, or has problems making the connection to the logic board. Sometimes the sound goes in and out, makes loud buzz, or only works when I hold the Mini RCA jack in place with my hand.

ANSWER:
Unfortunately the audio port is conneted to the logic board so the only way to replace the affected part would be to replace the logic baord.

Fortunately, you can use a hardware solution to get audio out of the machine.

we recommend cards by:

MAudio line by manufacturer Midiman

These audio cards are compatible with the design of the G4 PowerMac. If you shop for a card by a different maker, look for a card that supports Asio.
