A (Address) – stores the IP associated with name
CNAME (canonical name) – stores the real name of a server when given a nickname or alias
MX (Mail exchange) – store the domain name of the computer that is used for email in a zone
PTR (Pointer) – stores the domain name of a given IP (reverse lookup), maps an IP address to a computers DNS name, contains the four octets of the IP address in reverse order followed by in-addr.arpa.
